Kona Bridge Club

About the Kona Bridge Club

The Kona Bridge Club is an ACBL sanctioned non-profit organization dedicated to serving the duplicate bridge community on the Big Island of Hawaii. Being sanctioned means that bridge games played in our club earn masterpoints that are reported every month to the ACBL. We are part of Unit 469 (Big Island), District 20 (northwestern states, USA) of the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL). The club is governed by a board of directors elected by the membership. The club offers friendly, competitive open games, with a focus on fun, each week. We use wireless computerized score keeping by BridgeMate.

Kona Bridge Club is now strictly enforcing ACBL’s Zero Tolerance Policy for behavior at all games and events. Please endeavor to be a good host and guest at each table and be aware that any behavior that takes away from the pleasure of playing duplicate bridge is unacceptable and will be penalized. Mahalo!

In addition to the Kona Club games, the Unit Game is held on the second Sunday of most months (see calendar), usually at the Bridge Building in Kona. Several holiday unit games are also held each year often at the Mauna Kea Resort. These games are preceded by a buffet lunch which is optional for bridge players. The unit game is sponsored by the Unit 469 board of directors, which is elected by the unit membership.
